Mama Sam's Co-Op & Non-Profit

Mama Sam's Co-Op & Non-Profit

At Mama Sam's Co-Op we teach regenerative agriculture and self-sustainability to kids and their families. Our mission is to instill a sense of self-worth and sufficiency knowledge through hands-on learning. At our co-op we don't focus on the average academics, yet we still educate our children by teaching them life skills and how implement them into our daily lives.

We raise production animals here on the farm including goats that are a part of our dairy program, chickens, and pigs. We use these animals in our program to teach kids how to raise, harvest and preserve what these animals are able to give us. We also have our rescue animals which includes bunnies, bearded dragons, guinea pigs and more. The rescue animals are part of our Small Animal Science program. We will be expanding our equine program within the next year as well.

Our garden will be built by our kids! We want them to be able to walk onto the farm and proudly say that they helped to build and create what is here. This also gives them the opportunity to learn a trade or skill. From the garden the kids will be able to take foods home to help provide for their families, and we will also be teaching them various methods of preserving.

We have two sessions each semester that run M, W, F; AM is from 10-1 and PM is from 3:30-6:30. The co-op follows the public school calendar so that families can plan vacations/et accordingly without missing out on anything here.

We are also a non-profit so we are able to offer hours for the Bright Futures Scholarship. We ask that our volunteers be at least 13 years old.
