Come celebrate an amazing threatened keystone species, the gopher tortoise! Fun for all ages includes a scavenger hunt, corn hole, storytime for kids, coloring pages, and a board game. Discover the animals that live in a burrow with a tortoise. The entrance is at 1170 Rock Springs Dr Melbourne, FL 32940, behind the empty lot. Come enjoy a nature walk on the grassy trails. Visit our native plant gardens to get ideas for your yard. You might see some wildlife like a gopher tortoise, rabbit, deer, or even a bobcat or bats at sunset. You can walk 2 miles around, or around one basin. We recommend sneakers or other close-toed shoes, a hat, a water bottle, sunscreen, and bug spray. Bring the kids but no pets, please.
