Summer wouldn’t have the same sizzle without a patriotic concert by your Space Coast Symphony Wind Orchestra. This red, white and blue concert will honor all those who have worn our nation’s uniform. This all-American program will showcase our national heritage, as conductor Aaron directs the wind orchestra with music by Morton Gould, Frank Ticheli, Lee Greenwood, Christopher Marshall, and marches from “The March King,” John Philip Sousa. The concert will highlight Frank Ticheli’s thrilling and bluesy, Blue Shades. This high energy and jazzy tribute to the Big Band era is a pressure cooker of excitement. Rounding out the program is Christopher Marshall’s Méndez, inspired by the legendary Mexican trumpet virtuoso Rafael Méndez who presented hundreds of trumpet trio concerts across the United States with his two sons, Rafael Jr. and Robert. Méndez seeks to evoke the atmosphere of those performances and the exciting spirit of Mexican folk music.
