Steinfotomedia Animation Adventures Class

The Steinfotomedia Stop-Motion Animation class introduces students to the creative world of filmmaking, storytelling, and animation through hands-on projects. Students learn how ordinary objects, drawings, clay figures, recycled materials, and handmade characters can become animated performers.

Working in small groups or individually, students develop an idea, create characters and sets, plan scenes, and use stop-motion photography to bring their stories to life. They learn the fundamentals of animation, including storyboarding, composition, lighting, camera positioning, frame-by-frame movement, timing, sequencing, sound, and editing.
The class encourages experimentation, problem-solving, collaboration, and creative expression. Students are encouraged to make their own artistic choices while learning how changes in movement, timing, camera angle, and lighting can dramatically affect the final animation.

No previous animation or photography experience is required. Students will learn at their own level in a supportive studio environment where mistakes become part of the creative process.
