Melbourne Military Memorial Park is a peaceful outdoor memorial adjacent to the Liberty Bell Memorial Museum in Wells Park. Families can stroll through memorials honoring each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, learn about American military history, and visit the free museum next door for additional exhibits. The park provides a meaningful educational stop for children learning about veterans, patriotism, and American history.
The Melbourne Military Memorial Park was dedicated to all servicemen and servicewomen in 2002. The park contains a garden and meditation bench for each war in which the United States has fought. A plaque describes each war and its cost in lives and money. The five major military branches have individual monuments with a special monument to honor those men who lost their lives while training at the Melbourne Naval Air Station in WWII.
