Melbourne Yacht Club: Sailing Lessons

MYC is pleased to offer year-around opportunities for youth sailing. Whether your child is just starting out sailing, has attended a sailing summer camp, or is an experienced sailor, MYC’s youth sailing programs have opportunities for all levels of sailors. We now have a full time sailing Coach with an extensive background, who tailors instruction to the individual students. Beginner students are taught the fundamentals of sailing such as:

-How to rig, de-rig, launch, and recover small sailing dinghies.
-When to tell if it is safe to sail and how to read wind and weather conditions.
-How to sail upwind and downwind in light to moderate breeze.
-How to be comfortable getting into and out of a sailboat in the water.
-All students discover how much fun they can have on the water!
