Florida Tech Summer STEM Academy

Florida Tech's STEM Summer Academy provides an intensive, week-long exploration of cutting-edge scientific and technological disciplines. Students will rotate through specialized modules led by Florida Tech faculty members, graduate students and professionals who are leaders in their fields:

-Artificial Intelligence: Intro to generative AI tools, effective and ethical use of AI, applications of AI
-Forensic Psychology: Criminal profiling and behavior on-screen
-Marine Science: Plankton samples under the microscope, oyster mat making and scientific observation, ocean sensors and recording data
-Engineering Design: Hands-on activities involving soldering, 3D printing, laser cutting, water jet, powder coating
-Aviation Human Factors & Meteorology: Virtual reality flight simulator, motion flight simulator, drones, weather elements in aviation
-Animal Behavior & Cognition: Behavioral observations, experimental demonstrations, tour of Brevard Zoo
-Osteopathic Medicine: Osteopathic manipulative medicine, suturing skills and neuro exam activities, simulation in osteopathic medical school
-College Life and Academic Success: Succeeding in STEM as a university student, introduction to campus and student support resources
