  • Location: Wickham Park, Melbourne

Building on previous Festivals, the 2022 event will include even more entertainment, craftsmanship, art and learning experiences. Admission to the festival is FREE, as is parking. Musical performances are scheduled throughout each day, with headliner performances starting in the late afternoon through 10pm most days. Multiple award-winning musicians from all over the United States will be on stage throughout the weekend. There is a special "Cultural Program" presented mid-day on Saturday and Sunday that is designed to entertain and educate children of all ages.

There will be competitions for flute-playing, flute-making, and art creation. This family-friendly festival will also host a wide variety of free workshops that focus on
flute, percussion and other instrument playing, technical and collaborative techniques, crafting and art training, and much more. Extended workshops for advanced flute and percussion students will also be offered for a fee. In addition, vendors will sell musical
instruments, Native-style and environmental arts & crafts and food.

Presentations and displays by a variety of non-profit historical preservation and ecological groups, along with story-telling during the music performances, will round out the educational experiences.

This beautifully wooded park has free admission and ample free parking. The Wickham Park Campground is adjacent to the event area and offers campsites with full hookups as well as rustic sites. Motels and restaurants are close by. The festival is intended and designed to be family-friendly and appropriate to all ages. It is an alcohol-free event. This is the largest free Native music-related festival in the country. A full description of the festival, including a list of headlining and featured entertainers, craftsmen, artists and vendors, as well as performance times, workshops and advanced-classes schedules and registration, competitions, event volunteer opportunities, area camping and accommodation specifics may be found at the link below

Don't miss the "Ed WindDancer Cultural Program" presented Saturday at 1:45 and Sunday at 1:30. Ed talks to the kids in the audience, draws them into the stories of Native American dance, and music, and history. Bring chairs, or a blanket and enjoy the shows.
